We’re back from a weekend in Wisconsin. Josie got accepted at Beloit College, so we took a road trip. This is what we found:

Despite sub-freezing temps, Madison residents didn’t hesitate to ride their bikes through the city.

Thanks to a little Internet research, we found this gem of a restaurant in downtown Madison: Himal Chuli, which served Nepali food, mostly vegetarian.

This dal was delicious, and I’m grateful that my husband waited to tell me after the fact that the black cumin seeds looked just like mouse droppings.
